No fewer than 192 Akwa Ibom–based artists thrilled audiences at the just-concluded Akwa Ibom Christmas Unplugged 3.0, a flagship cultural and entertainment event that celebrated creativity, heritage, and local talents.
Speaking with the media community in the state organised by Forum of Social Media Administrators and Influencers, Akwa Ibom State in partnership with the State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the with theme, "Celebrating Christmas Unplugged 3.0, the Special Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on Entertainment, Mr. David Sargent, popularly known as Utang Akwa Ibom confirmed that local artists across the 31 Local Government Areas of the state featured prominently.
He described the Christmas Unplugged as a deliberate opportunity to expose, promote, and showcase homegrown talents to a wider audience.
On his part, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia, highlighted the numerous gains of the 2025 Christmas Unplugged 3.0, noting that the festival has continued to grow in scale and impact.
He expressed appreciation to Governor Umo Eno for sustaining the annual festivities, stressing that the event has become a major vehicle for projecting Akwa Ibom’s rich cultural heritage to the global stage.
Dr. Udofia said the success of 2025 edition was evident in the strong representation of indigenous music, dance, and artistic expressions, which reflected the state’s identity and traditions.
Earlier, the Chairman of the forum and Publisher of Ibom Plaza Newspaper, Comrade Bassey Samuel Jr. commended the commissioner and his team for their commitment and effective coordination, describing the event as a landmark achievement in the promotion of arts, culture, and tourism in the state.
