Q1: Can you introduce yourself to those who might be hearing about you for the first time?
My name is Samuel Eze Onyedikachukwu, popularly known as Sam Leez. I’m from Igbo Eze North Local Government Area, Nsukka, in Enugu State, but I’m currently based in Lagos, Nigeria. I am a passionate musician.
Q2: How did you come up with your stage name “Sam Leez”?
My stage name is simply a creative take on my real name. It was derived from Samuel Eze. I wanted something catchy, simple, and easy for everyone to pronounce, so I chose Sam Leez.
Q3: When did your journey into music begin, and what inspired you to start?
I have been singing since I was a young boy in my village. Music has always been part of my life, but I began my professional journey on December 18, 2009.
Q4: How would you describe your music style and sound?
My sound is mainly Afrobeats and Amapiano, though I’m open to experimenting with other genres as time goes on.
Q5: Tell us about your new song—what is it called and what story does it tell?
My latest single is titled “KOK”, released on June 12, 2025. It’s a motivational song that encourages people to keep pushing and putting effort into their work. People may criticize you, but once success starts showing, those same people will recognize and respect you.
Q6: What inspired you to write and record this track?
The inspiration came from veteran actor Kanayo O. Kanayo, who always emphasizes the importance of making sacrifices to achieve success in life.
Q7: How do you want listeners to feel when they hear this new release?
I want everyone who listens to “KOK” to feel courageous and believe in themselves. Once you stay focused and achieve your goals, the joy at the end makes everything worth it.
Q8: Who are some of your biggest musical influences?
I draw inspiration from all musicians, but my role models are Davido and Burna Boy.
Q9: What challenges have you faced as an artist, and how have they shaped your career?
As an upcoming musician, one of my biggest challenges has been securing shows. But I’ve learned that in this industry, if you don’t push yourself, no one else will do it for you. These challenges have made me more determined and hardworking.

Yes, definitely. Being Nigerian means a lot to me. My culture and environment inspire me to create good vibes that connect with people.
